SNP Detection and NGS

Block seminar/proseminar covering SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) related topics including extracting SNPs from NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) data and using that information for prediction tasks (e.g. pathogenicity, treatment response).

Registration:

  • From 21st to 28th October, we will ignore any emails before or after that time period
  • Plase send the email to the tutors
  • Students without any proseminar/seminar certificate will be preferred
  • For the registration we need the following information:
    • Your name and matriculation number
    • Whether your are a Bachelor or a Master student and in which semester
    • The topic you prefer and whether you want to do a seminar or a proseminar
    • Whether you already have a seminar/proseminar certificate

Requirements:

  • Proseminar: at least in 3rd semester, Bioinformatics I
  • Recommended, but not required: NGS lectures, Statistical Learning

Requirements for certificate:

  • Submitting the first version of the slides
  • Successful presentation: 30 minutes (proseminar), 40 minutes (seminar) + questions
  • Submitting a summary (2 pages)
  • Attendance to all presentations

Topics: One topic per student, a topic may contain more than one paper
